Philosophy

My husband and I know the “Shop Local” lifestyle first hand. We live it on a daily basis. In addition to my design business, I have a store called Culture Shock in Rockford, and if we didn’t have hundreds of customers who thought to shop locally before hitting the big box stores, we would cease to exist. If a business in my community decides to use my design services before using an online template, or a “bidding war” design company, then I need to take the profit I make from the work I create, and deposit it into the local places that make my community unique and one-of-a-kind. It is a feel-good thing to do, and it also then increases the money being put into my community, as that business takes my money and does the same with it.

History

6 years ago, I would make advertisements for our retail store, and do my best to copy and paste pictures and design our business cards and posters. After sometime I realized that I REALLY liked doing creative work. At the time I was a struggling journalism student. I quickly changed my major to the Graphic Arts and found myself immersed in something I actually LOVED doing. It took over my brain. I have several references for my work available upon request from local clients to clients in Chicago and all over the United States.  The last thing I will say, is that I am not invested in this field for money, as much as I am in it for art, and for the sake of helping other businesses who are in search of a business identity. I will never forget how I started and how much I have learned, or where in my life I came from. I want to make the process easy for you too.
